The solar beams can be mounted clear-line of sight up to 1KM from the Indoor Security Alert. Buildings and thick vegetation will reduce the wireless distance however as a general rule 800m in this circumstance is achievable.

Indoor Alert 

 The Indoor Alert connects wirelessly to the solar beams, it is the receiver that will chime when the infra-red sensors on the solar beams are broken by a person or vehicle. The Indoor Security Alert is not waterproof and requires power.  Many Indoor Security Alerts can be paired wirelessly to one set of beams therefore you can have one in your house and one in the shed for example.

The Indoor Alert has an option to be wired into other devices like alarm systems, sirens and lights as it has 4 dry output contacts (relay outputs).  If it is wired into an alarm system when the solar beams are broken it will activate the alarm system as well as chime in your premises to alert you of a boundary entrance breach. The solar beams are and act the same as an alarm detector/sensor.   Therefore, if your alarm system is monitored the monitoring station will call you and notify you of the security breach if a vehicle or a person has moved between the solar beams.  If your alarm system calls you directly then you will receive an alarm activation call or message on your mobile phone.
